Review of Eighth Grade (2018) by Vj L — 14 Oct 2018
An introverted teenaged girl is trying to get through a brutal eighth grade while preparing for high school.
This movie was so sweet, innocent, real, hilarious. Easily one of the best coming-of-age movie I've seen.
This movie hits every note perfectly. The kids are kids-immature, ignorant, innocent. The father was perfect. He was that lame parent you didn't want to hang out with. A perfect use of music to put into the main characters world. When the movie wants to be funny, it's hilarious. A perfect use of music to put into the main character's world. When it wants to scare you, it definitely does its job. When it wants to break your heart, it breaks it into a million pieces.
I absolutely loved this movie.
I laughed, I cried, I was revived.
I loved this movie.
