Review of Eighth Grade (2018) by Ryan K — 26 Sep 2018
This film strives toward the same lesson that most coming of age tales do. The difference with 'Eighth Grade', is its level of success vs. the its moving parts. Most writers exploit twice the drama that Burnham has.
The clear cut, sometimes tough to watch, strikingly honest performance by Fisher can resonate with any observer of human emotions. This picture demonstrates a young girl's fight for a following in modern society that is far too realistic for comfort.
