Review of Eighth Grade (2018) by Compi24 — 06 Aug 2018
Writer/director/comedian extraordinaire Bo Burnham comes to us with a "funcomfortable," endearing, and at times frustratingly real portrayal of a pivotal, yet underrepresented era in human development.
Featuring a handful of standout, naturalistic performances -- with the most notable performance of course coming from breakout star Elsie Fisher -- some terrifically subtle storytelling techniques, and a solid vision from the gifted entertainer behind it all, "Eighth Grade" is easily one of the year's better indie efforts, and one that should be seen by many.
