Review of Eighth Grade (2018) by Kevin S — 27 Jul 2018

This is a cute movie. I'm trying to figure out why it's being declared as brilliant or a masterpiece. It's good and I don't want to say too much negative. The dialogue is more like what a comedian would say as a joke to express what a young girl would say than the actual words she'd say.

Though the situations are relatable, the characters are honestly just a bit thin. What we get about the main character's depth is just stated explicitly by her father. It's a cute film and probably would be good for kids to see.
