As a viewer who has read many different biographies on Effie Gray,John Everett Millias and John Ruskin, I came to the movie very excited about how they would portray it.I was sadly very disappointed. So, from all my readings on this subject, the writers etc cut out ALL the interesting stuff!! Stuff, I'm sure that would have hugely benefited the movie. They cut of all the 'falling in love' aspect of Everett and Effie which ??? Why?
The whole movie was boring and Dakota Fanning acting was stiff , i'm sure that's how they wanted it to be but it made me feel nothing for Efiie-which is a huge difference to when I was reading about the real life Effie. All I all, I won't be watching this again unless I want to be bored to death (Which is crazy since I LOVE the history that this movie is based off. They had so many opportunities with this but they just threw it all away.) This movie gets two stars from me - One because I can't rate zero, and two because Ema Thompson is in it.
