Review of Edward Scissorhands (1990) by Mohammad Z — 31 Dec 2012
An absolute classic Burton film. Good to see it again. The main story arc is the classic outsider vs. status quo scenario but perhaps what works the most for me is the contrast between the pastel-shaded suburban nightmare (wherein perhaps the true horror lies) with Edward's somewhat drab external appearance which hides a creative soul.
The movie itself is all fairy tale, which plays on Shelley's Frankenstein.
