Review of Edvard Munch (1974) by Tio B — 11 Dec 2007
Unparalleled. A work of true exception. Watkins has an uncanny ability for establishing an intimate relationship with his viewers; though a film, it seems as if one is in direct communication with Munch, that one is a witness to the events of his life.
It may seem like realism to some, but it is of a different order, more elliptical and poetic, and full of profound sensitivity.
