Review of Educating Rita (1983) by Matt M — 04 Feb 2013
An alcoholic literature college professor becomes the tutor of a frustrated housewife filled with a desire to learn. Gilbert's attempt at deconstructing the human heart becomes more and more the product of a surpassed and common philosophy as the film progresses and the clash between cultural knowledge and the bliss of ignorance is more evident.
Caine and Walters are quite good together, in their Pygmalion like relationship portrayal.
