First class acting from both Julie Walters and Caine. The story of how a person grew up, changed and saw the light....and how Rita helped him. Although the film is mainly focused on her development, for me it is just as much about Frank and how he learns to fight is boozing and cynical view of teaching. Best line in the film ? easy...

A geriatric hippy!
Classic film, watch it again and again and never tire.
