Review of Eden Lake (2008) by Jeremy W — 28 Feb 2010

This film is way to gory for my liking. I enjoy it when it's funny or foolish like Zombie Land or Dead Snow, but not things like Hostel, just gore just to make you cringe. It is an good film with a slow beginning but when it turns up the pacing it becomes very intense. The acting is decent but nothing special, and the directing was solid.

Eden Lake is about a couple who go an a outdoor getaway. They come across a bunch of hoodlums that cause way more trouble than was expected and things get way out of hand, making it one of the worst vacations anyone could have.

I could recommend this to gore or horror/suspense fans but I wouldn't watch it again. Even though I liked it, it was to gross for me. I bet many people have missed this one but if you like this genre its a good watch.
