Review of Eden Lake (2008) by Dena S — 13 May 2012
A movie about a couple going camping in an "untouched" lake, only to find out that a group of distrubed teenagers claimed the land for themselves.
The story of the idea is nice, but it is not supported well mostly due to the fact that a full grown man gets bullied by a bunch of teenagers, and his reactions are rather unrealistic.the plot weakens in the middle part of the movie, when the reactions of both the hunted (Fassbender and Reilly) and the hunters (the teenage gang) seem unrealistic and unthoughtfull to idiotic. The last part of the movie is considerably better with the night chase scenes and the doubts that arise in the members of the gang(that finally gets one of them killed, and the girl leaving the gang and running away),but the passage to the movie's end happens again with a ridiculous way(the woman who escape ,loses control of her car and crashes in a party),altough the ending itself is a class above the whole movie.
Other than that, the only memorable think in this movie, is the gory scenes of the injuries (but have some unrealistic consequences to the victims).
RATING : 4.0.
