Review of Eden Lake (2008) by Pierre-Luc G — 14 Apr 2011
Finally a trip-to-the-countryside-gone-wrong-film that has some intelligence! A true homage to Deliverance, and at the same time very original. First of all it's set in England, it contains characters who you care about and who are believable, played to perfection by talented actors.
It's very well shot. It's well directed and well written. It takes time to build up, and the gory scenes are not as visible as you may expect, instead it shows you glimses, the rest is up to your imagination.
Also the "evil" gang has some intrigues within itself, so you have drama all over! A couple of scenes even made me cry, it was very sincere. Well done!
