Review of Eddie the Eagle (2016) by Thaddaeus D — 26 Feb 2016
A story like this is inevitably going to be full of cliches; but then they are delivered this sweetly, who cares? It's a jolt of pure inspiration, and sometimes that is just what you need. Taron Egerton proves that Kingsmen was no fluke; he's the real deal.
Hugh Jackman is more appealing then he's been in years. The villains are ridiculously one-dimensional, as are the parents. But it's a fable; you don't go to a movie like this for depth. Just go along with the ride, and treat yourself to some joy.
