Review of Eddie Izzard: Unrepeatable (1994) by Kathleen D — 18 Jul 2010
I just love Eddie Izzard's comedy style. He doesn't write his material down and so it is a sort of rambling style that is very entertaining . I would call him a "comedy genius". And if you have not yet seen him preform, I would strongly suggest that you give him a try.
Anyone I share his comedy with becomes an instant fan. He is a transvestite, but even if you initially have some mental resistance to this, you will very quickly be distracted by his wit and humor. I ,myself was intially put off by the fact he was British, as I am second generation Irish-American and grew up a bit anti-British.
He quickly helped me overcome this though. He is itelligent, charming and extremely funny. I am now a bit of an anglophile when it comes to drama and comedy, and owe this Ediie Izzard opening my eyes and mind enough to seperate government policy and the people of Great Britain.
Give him a whirl -- you will be entertained and maybe enlightened in the process !
