In some respects, Ed Wood is just as bad as the films it is portraying. Depp and Landau deliver great performances and there is some clever humor present to accomodate an appropriate visual style, but the end result is just not as satisfying or entertaining as it could have been, with the plot feeling like its being held together by sticks and tape and the storytelling being unable to fully inform or engage.
