Review of Ed Wood (1994) by Shane Z — 26 Nov 2013
Who would ever know that Ed Wood's career would be a perfect idea for a film? The film is about the life of cult favorite Ed Wood, Wood is played by Johnny Depp is on his quest for film greatness as he writes and directs turkey after turkey, cross-dresses, and surrounds himself with a motley crew of Hollywood misfits, outcasts, has-beens, and never-weres.
This is his real life for real, Ed Wood has been considered to be one of the "worst directors of all time" in Hollywood history. What both Tim Burton and Johnny Depp have done here is Burton making Ed Woods life fun, Witty, and interesting instead of unoriginal and making a fool out of him, while Depp bringing out one of his greatest performances ever has a funny, strange and horrific style and feel.
Ed Wood is a perfect film worth it for both comedy fans and horror fans as well, the film is a near perfect film that shows "Ed Wood" is a very interesting guy and wasn't that bad of a director, he's a cult hero.
