Review of Eating Out (1994) by Evan D — 18 Dec 2007
I never really considered myself a prude but whoa!!! Slow down on that language! Sure, this movie was designed to be simple as you can tell with the low budget but somehow, things get pretty twisted. This one guy has to pretend to sleep with this other guy so he can get his chance with this one girl who lives next door from his ex. Now, that is what I call dedication.
Unfortunately the chracters are pretty much stale. You got your promiscuous hunk, the girl who loves to hang out with gay guys, the gay guy who talks with so much pop culture inserted you need a dictionary, and the torn protagonist. While branded as a comedy, I find myself only smirking at some scenes. The only time I truly laughed was when Tiffany was on screen. She's somewhat original. She needs to feel Christina Aguilera Dirrty to orgasm. How does she accomplish that? By having her boyfriends act out scenarios...
Overall, the movie falls short in the comedy department which it advertises itself. Eating Out gets a 2 out of 5.
