What a wonderful film, from Ang Lee, the master from Taiwan. This film has humour, pathos and gorgeous visuals. I defy anyone to watch the opening shots and not marvel at the food preparation scenes, or drool! The story is good, with strong characterisation and performances from all the principloes and, like most Ang Lee films, has great humour and heart at its core.
It is a film I put on to watch just to cheer me up - truly wonderful.
