Review of Eat Drink Man Woman (1994) by Faithy L — 04 May 2008

One of my favorite movies of all time. The opening sequence itself contributes to where the movie ranks in my mind simply because of the artistry of the cooking and the beautiful creations from which it results.

I remember wanting to learn how to cook just from that sequence. In addition to the stunning food visuals, the story about an aging, widowed chef and his three daughters, and the transformation they all go through as the movie progresses, points to life's journey and the unexpected twists and turns that confront all of us.
