Review of Eat Drink Man Woman (1994) by Byron B — 03 May 2010
The first and only film to date that Ang lee made in his hometown as the last part of "Father Knows Best" trilogy. The multiple-storyline film was very well-told and shows the worldwide common human being feelings in a small Taiwanese family.
The unexpectedly pleasant outcomes add up some delicate touches to it just like how the Chinese gourmets in the film are made. The actresses played the three daughters were all very good. But I have to say the veterans Lung Sihung and Kuei Ya-Lei were still the best.
