Not consistently good, mainly due to some dodgy acting by Dennis Hopper, but when it works, it's fantastic. The scenes of the bikes on the road, set to a cracking soundtrack, are some of the best parts of the movie.
The whole Nicholson section is also a highlight. Loses it's way near to the end, but overall a great movie.
