Review of Easy Rider (1969) by Elgan D — 21 Jun 2011
Puts across the feeling of time, place and mood well but as a story this is very lacking. The plot was evidently made up along the way by a frequently high and/or drunk Fonda and Hopper. Nicholson is a captivating presence in every scene he is in, overshadowing the others.
There are two dramatic sequences in the entire movie but these are rushed which lessens their impact. Very influential in the demise of the studio system but far from a masterpiece.
