Review of Easy A (2010) by Distant C — 21 Aug 2012
Easy A is a modern day Scarlett Letter that tells the story of Olive Pantergast (Emma Stone), a teenager who accidentally spreads a rumor that she had sex and becomes the "slut" of the school.
I watched this movie because I think Emma Stone is a very good actress and I knew this was the movie she had her big break in so I was curious about it. It was entertaining and at times an interesting look at gossip and teenagers as well as Christian teens (but it was no "Saved!") The only jokes in this movie that were truly funny were the ones that made reference to pop culture and literature. So unless you're a pop culture junkie or a literatrue nerd, you probably won't find this movie all that funny.
