Review of Eastern Promises (2007) by Karl-Johan L — 25 Jan 2011
Excellent and disturbing suspense/thriller involving the Russian mob and the modern slave trade in London, with one of the greatest and most nightmarish fight sequences in film history. Uniformly excellent performances, including an appropriately over-the-top supporting turn by Vincent Cassel that's like a Russian version of Christian Bale's Donnie in THE FIGHTER.
