Review of East of Eden (1955) by Patrick D — 23 May 2008
A very poor adaptation of an amazing novel. This is just pure James Dean propaganda and it completely changes the story of Steinbeck's work. It was so bad that I couldn't even finish it. Besides, the story is set in the early 20th century but you can tell that this is a 50s movie due to the hairstyles and clothing in the movie.
If you haven't read the book, this is a good movie. If you have, it's terrible. That's all I have to say about that.
