Review of East of Eden (1955) by Sabra E — 18 Nov 2010
This movie read like a great book. I'm not trying to be funny here, I know it's based on Steinbeck novel. Dean's character was mercurial and complex. It was hard to tell between his seducing or being seduced.
An attractive, feral introvert who could charm the pants off ladies, have jealous love-based tantrums and concoct brilliant money making schemes. If I'd have met a man like that sooner in my life, I'm sure he would've been my first love.
But now I would know better and stay far, far away.
