Review of Eagle Eye (2008) by Jason C — 29 May 2011
The key these days for films trying to make out that our over-dependence on technology is a Bad Thing [tm] is not to try to explain the technology. Also, not having computers that talk like monologuing super-villains would be a bonus.
You could also consider having a semi-plausible reason for the computer involved to develop the ability for independent and rational thought. These quibbles aside, Eagle Eye cracks along at such a pace it's almost possible to ignore the fact it's completely ridiculous.
Shia LaBeouf is certainly cornering the market in unsympathetic everymen - Matt Damon must be getting worried.
