I have a problem calling this an epic. It's essentially three stories shown thru cut backs, with little or no real dialogue, nor focus. Great shots of the Dunkirk beaches, though they could have used some CGI to fill them up with the masses of men and the flotsum and jetsum of war.
It doesn't hold a candle to the 1958 film of the same name, starring John Mills.
