Review of Dunkirk (2017) by Dae J — 31 Dec 2017
4 out of 5 stars! This was a very good film, but it started very slowly and had very little dialogue throughout. The lat 30-45 minutes brought everything together and made for a pretty thrilling ride and an interesting ending.
I don't typically like war movies. The only one I really ever liked was Stanley Kubrick's "Full Metal Jacket" and that was mainly because of how good Stanley Kubrick was as a filmmaker.
Stanley Kubrick is my favorite Director of all time. Christopher Nolan, who directed this, is one of my favorite new Directors of the last 10-20 years, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I'm still not a big fan of war movies, but this was an interesting one and very well shot.
