Review of Dunkirk (2017) by Margie V — 05 May 2018
I stopped watching after 20 minutes. Same couple of spitfires, same ME 109's trailing white smoke, hysterical metro sexuals in uniform. Trained soldiers who run down the middle of the street when under fire, and all get shot in the back, Doh!.
A travesty of a film . The truth = RAF 2700 sortes in 9 days, huge air battles, brave tough young men, including my uncle who was seriously injured on HMS grenade, one of 1000's of boats and ships that took part from UK, France, Holland.
This piece of junk has a couple of ships, a minesweeper that is just dead in the water waiting to be bombed. I gave it 2 stars, only because the actors did a good job, under a dreadful script and direction.
Reading some of the glowing reviews, it makes me realize we really are living in the times of the emperor's new clothes.
