Review of Dunkirk (2017) by Gerard B — 08 Feb 2018
This is evidently some sort of designer set piece produced to chase and win awards because I found it curiously shallow and pretentious. Sure, the photography is good but there is very little character development, historical information, or sense of the true scale and achievement of the operation.
It seems to be all about Nolans ego and did not do the subject justice. On top of that, it was somewhat mono chromatic and ridiculously politically correct as the horror and blood and guts of the actual event was not depicted at all.
Very disappointing and not worth the. money I paid for the dvd.
