Review of Dunkirk (2017) by Ryan L — 16 Jan 2018
Really enjoyed this film. Interesting structure with the multiple timelines/stories. The separate timelines build and then converge in a satisfying way. It may be that the movie seems a little more clever than it really is--just by nature of the way the timelines are set up and carried through.
The stories/plot would be a little more run-of-the-mill if not elevated by a narrative structure that gradually unveils connections. It worked well for me. Beautifully filmed, too.
