Review of Dunkirk (2017) by Adam H — 30 Dec 2017
I get angry when I think about what socialism did to Europe. After everything was said and done its crimes were placed on the head of a single figurehead when in reality it was socialism and authoritarianism that were to blame.
These are two ideas Europe has come to embrace and it makes me so pissed. It was strange watching this as my grandfather fought directly on the other side of the events of this film. He would have been in the southern infantry mass I imagine.
Yet he was every bit the victim they were. These men shouldn't have been killing eachother they had almost everything in common. But thanks to a demented idea known as socialism and an absurd treaty for and by power brokers they were made enemies.
People say this was one war that needed to be fought, I say it wasn't. None of this should have happened but it did. And it will happen again, because people failed to learn. Socialism, central planning- doesn't work. It always ends in these mad murder sprees. Just look at the EU right now. Look at North Korea. Now the Polish are at risk of having a socialist bureaucracy tear their country apart once again.
If the EU is allowed to continue lording over Europe all of this might as well have happened for nothing and jesus that makes me PISSED.
