Review of Dunkirk (2017) by Paul D — 10 Dec 2017
Dunkirk is an intense film, and a great one, that reaffirms Christopher Nolan's place among cinema's elite. Hats off for making a short film that sustains our interest throughout - he's made a successful suspense movie even though everyone knows the outcome.
A few vast, epic images provide the context for a series of intimate stories that we return to frequently as the tale unfolds. The sound and score brilliantly bind us to the fate of the soldiers and the action.
Well done!
