2 hours of nothing but tense. Constant high pitched soundtrack just in case you didn't realize you were supposed to feel tense. If you don't know the story of Dunkirk, learn it be for you go, because this movie will not explain it.
The story is told across 3 time periods, skipping between all 3 within the movie. The cast is terrific, but sitting through this movie is as painful as a root canal and less rewarding. By comparison, Saving Private Ryan is a heartwarming war story.
This is the kind of movie critics love but us regular folks find disappointing.
