Review of Dunkirk (2017) by Richard J — 02 Aug 2017
A notable combination of blurred moral lines of heroic actions and self-preservation instincts with the larger canvas of wartime. If you take a step back, "Dunkirk" will reveal itself to be a fairly standard "war is bad" statement.
It appears to say more because of Nolan's fiercely inventive film-making, which is ultimately a good thing. I was impressed by the mastery of visuals and dialogues, bringing true honor to British cinema.
Perhaps Nolan's greatest victory to date.
