Review of Dunkirk (2017) by Alex S — 04 Aug 2017
This movie takes one of the most important events of WW2 and somehow manages to make it feel small. The jumping around in time to look at the same event from different perspectives isn't as confusing as it is annoying.
This film feels like a good opportunity spoiled. I actually got angry when we were supposed to believe one person getting off of a boat was going to suddenly make it float while water weighing much more than a person was gushing in.
The Spitfire pilot intentionally landing in enemy territory instead of bailing out or ditching where he could rejoin his side and the miraculous glide capability of his plane where beyond ridiculous.
