Review of Dunkirk (2017) by Joli W — 22 Jul 2017
I must have seen a different film. I don't need to see a story that's linear, but a lot of the vignettes didn't make sense. By that I mean here's a scene, lots of drama and then just dropped (e.
G., the boat at the end of the beach - don't want to give too much away). Scenes with actors started in daylight, next scene was night then back to daylight. It was so hard to follow, little backstory, and it was difficult (for me) to become engaged with the actors.
The rescue - sure, there were some private boats that you saw, but nowhere near the amount needed to rescue 400,000. Have you not heard of CGI (I'm not a huge fan, but still)? And the NOISE - although my 93 year old FIL did fall asleep for an hour - I have tinnitus and had to insert my iPhone head phones as my ears felt as if someone was pounding me with daggers.
You were warned.
