Review of Duets (2000) by David L — 21 May 2008
I thought this movie was all gwenyth paltrow and huey lewis, but most of the screen time is actually devoted to the really excellent buddy story of paul giamatti and andre braugher. if only they had went ahead and jettisoned the rest of the weak and badly portrayed storylines, and made a feature out of these two.
still, just their scenes carry the movie and are one of the most touching buddy stories i've seen in quite a while. I would give their story 4.5 stars, and the rest of the movie 1, so I guess I have to go somewhere in between.
