Review of Duets (2000) by Jessica O — 28 Nov 2008
Some of the story lines in this movie are weak and not thought through, but that is the film's only weakness if you can get past it and suspend your common sense at times for a couple of hours. The singing performances in this movie alone make it worth the price of admission (or rental, as the case may be), and if you're a fan of Huey Lewis, you'll really enjoy it.
Very surprising singing performances by Paul Giamatti and Gwyneth Paltrow, who was directed by her late father Bruce Paltrow. If you're the sentimental sort and like to watch sentimental-type chick flick movies that make you feel good, you won't regret renting this.
