Review of Due Date (2010) by Luke S — 11 Jan 2013
It might not be as insanely funny and over the top as The Hangover, despite the obvious connection that is Todd Phillips. Yet, the film is a bit more touching and serious than The Hangover. Focusing on one relationship that is as troubled and flawed as its individual parties.
Alas, I found that the chemistry between the two protagonist is far from magical and does not evolve beyond what can only be explained as good acting. As usual, Zach Galifianakis delivers all the joke, while everyone plays it straight0 A bit of a shame, I think it would have been nice to include a sort-of villain / protagonist (maybe a criminal chasing down the pair).
All in all, the films stays right in the middle of huge laughst and tearjerking, offering a solid and entertaining evening.
