Review of Duck Soup (1933) by Roman P — 21 Jun 2011
The broken mirror gag, the doorbell scene, the 3 Grouchos, and the always hapless and poor Margaret Dumont.... all here in Duck Soup, which the title has nothing to do with the plot about wacky politics and needless war.
Many say it's the best Marx Brothers film, I say it may be the funniest, but there are just too few scenes with the musical numbers and individual music scenes. Yeah, so don't expect Harpo's harp playing, or Chico's piano, but there are so many hilarious scenes that you may not miss them.
