The jokes, at times, come fast and furious, to the point that you would have to pause the film just to be able to laugh without missing something. The Marx brothers are masters of word-play humor, which I was able to glean from this first film I've seen with them.

I was highly impressed with how well the film translates even today: the barbs and innuendo are often roll-on-the-floor funny. Not all the jokes hold up for today's modern sensibilities, but for a 77 year old film, I was blown away at how energetic and fun this film was.

I see the influence these brothers had on later comedic troupes (especially one of my favorites: Monty Python) and I tip my proverbial hat at these gentleman for the amazing quality of the script.
