An alcoholic doctor attempts to help a tuberculosis diseased gangster, while the dark sides of his life pull them both apart.
Excellent performances I must say. The characters are developed nicely and the subplots with other characters are not superfluous, and therefore add to the film. The symbolism of the mudhole is also very well done. I liked how the doctor character only shows his true feelings in a small vulnerable moment at the end.
