Review of Drums Along the Mohawk (1939) by Russell G — 28 Feb 2008
In many ways, ahead of its time. But in the sexism, perhaps not. Still, Henry Fonda and Claudette Colbert make an odd, but interesting couple of homesteaders. And Ford is certainly progressive. The violence and the implications thereof for example, are rather brutal for a film of this day.
Definitely merits more study than what I gave it, but was certainly impressed.
