Review of Drugstore Cowboy (1989) by Colin N — 19 Sep 2007
Wasn't terrific but wasn't bad, makes me want to watch more Matt Dillion movies. The basic premise is kind of cool, and how it was made was decent, there wasn't much originality when it came to the soundtrack.
The drugged out sequences weren't original ideas but had a unique quality that pulled it off. Great lead actors in this film, but wasn't very happy with Heather Graham performance (mainly because I'm not fond of her as an actress).
She was nineteen when the film was made and hadn't had much experiance acting in a supporting role before so it was a start. For a Gus Van Sant (a director I'm not completely fond of) this was a decent attempt at capture a interesting plot and story of a junkie.
