Has some (if not more) of the psychedelia of My private Idaho, but the story is not as emotionally gripping. Like trainspotting it is a very good anti-drug movie with no pointers at all. None of the humour/absurdity of that film though, more of straightfoward realism.
Matt Dillon is as good as he can ever be and William Burroughs guest stars in a brilliant little moment.
