Review of Drowning by Numbers (1988) by Tristan G — 07 Nov 2007
Peter Greenaway combines numbers, death, and women together with themes of surrealism, circumcision, and fireworks. Definitely not for everyone, but if you enjoy Greenaway, you must view this. I think it's a masterpiece.
The coolest thing is at the beginning when there's a little girl, and she's jump roping and singing this strange rhyme hat sounds as if she's analyzing the plot of the film. The film has some horrific elements, but it's really neat when you really sit down and view it.
