This has to be one of the most lightweight Best Picture winners of the modern era. It is not a poor film but at the same time isn't remarkable. Yes a heartfelt relationship does build between Hoke and Miss Daisy and Morgan Freeman is one of the best things about the film but it's way too fluffy and self-righteous to be taken seriously.
