Review of Drive (2011) by Facebook U — 14 Jun 2017
When it comes to visual storytelling, "Drive" is miles ahead of anything else out there (pun intended). Dialogue is minimal, and the film relies on subtle cues and symbolism to tell the story.
Everything is conducted through excellent performances and top-notch cinematography. The soundtrack is also fantastic, with a surrealist, neon feel. It really adds to the atmosphere, which is incredibly immersive and unique.
I've seen "Drive" a countless amount of times over the years, and it's always been one of my favorite films. And, somehow, every time I watch it I pick up on something new. This is Nicolas Winding Refn's best work.
